The Simon Business School at the University of Rochester runs a six day orientation program designed to bring out the inner leader of their incoming students and help them to develop a strong and lasting bond with their new teammates and classmates. Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventures’ role is to support this program by facilitating an exciting day of team bonding and team building, which is also thought provoking and encourages the teams to think outside of logical norms to complete the challenging tasks presented to them.
Guided Zipline Canopy Tour For Small Sub-Groups:
Zipline Canopy Tour with 11 groups staggered throughout the day.
The 3-hour tour is led by 2 guides and features 7 ziplines that measure over 5,000ft, 4 spectacular bridges that overlook the vast Bristol Valley, 2 hikes, 2 off-road rides, and one final leap of faith.
Treetop Team Building Sessions In The Aerial Adventure Park:
All participants get the chance to climb and explore in the Aerial Adventure Park for 2.5 hours. Students navigate up to 125 moving obstacles throughout seven courses ranging from beginner to advanced. For each obstacle there are a number of different ways to get from one side to the other (we like to say that there is no right way, just an easy way and a hard way). Discovery through strategic thinking is key in getting the entire team though the course so they can advance to the next level.
Simon Business School Staff & Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventures Staff lead additional team bonding activities during down time including kickball, can-jam, and corn hole (with some mood music!).
Nathan Kadar – Director of Student Life, Simon Business School
“As part of the full-time MBA New Student Orientation program at the Simon Business School, our main focus and goal is to build camaraderie and community within each new class. It is extremely important for us to stress this with each new class because not only are our students with each other almost every single day over the course of two year in a very rigorous academic environment, we want them to become a tight-knit network of future business leaders that will utilize each other as they move forward in their careers. The Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventure ropes and zip line course take many of our new students out of their comfort zone, put them in a vulnerable setting, and allows them to rely on each other both physically and mentally in order to get through both courses. Our program is extremely team focused, and with the help of the incredible team at Bristol, this adventure sets the tone for the rest of their MBA program.”
